Speaking of which, what was the most popular cocktail of Summer 2016? We used our Social Intelligence platform to find out. We tracked “cocktail” mentions across social media and mainstream websites. The majority of these mentions came from brands promoting their alcohol in mixed drinks and consumers sharing their love for their favorite cocktail. Let’s take a look at some of the insights we uncovered.

According to the data pulled from our Social Listening platform, the majority of users talking about cocktails online were social media users who identify as female.

Where were users talking about cocktails within the United States? The highest mentions came from New York, California, Texas and Florida.
Topics Share of Voice:
Cosmopolitans were Summer 2016’s most talked about cocktail. It brought in 54.84% of cocktail Share of Voice. Then followed margarita, mojito, sangria, sex on the beach, daiquiri, moscow mule, long island iced tea, gimlet and aviation.
